I found this interesting diagram in the blog of the CEIP Pràctiques school in Lleida: http://blocs.xtec.cat/clilpractiques1/2008/11/06/.
It may be useful to create the didactic units for the final assessment.

CLIL: Complementing or Compromising English Language Teaching?
This is the title for the debate that will be hosted by Macmillan Education, Onestopclil and Guardian Weekly at the IATEFL International Conference in Cardiff, UK.
For those of us who are not able to attend the conference in Cardiff there are several ways to take part in the debate in www.onestopclil.com
- The debate has started – read responses to the debate question from a Biology teacher’s perspective and from an EFL teacher’s perspective
- Have your say – complete the short CLIL survey. Your answers will feed into the debate .
- Hear what the panellists have to say about the debate: Why this debate? and Why now?
- Read David Marsh’s and Peeter Mehisto’s article: English language teacher’s new role in the Guardian Weekly.
- What do you think? Share your thoughts and experiences in the discussion forum

As I know that all of us have now in mind the final assessment, I post here the Bloom’s taxonomy of Educational Objectives.
In 1956 Benjamin Bloom headed a group of educational psychologists who developed a classification of levels of intellectual behaviour important in learning. Bloom identified six levels within the cognitive domain. Here they are:
|
Knowledge |
Count, Define, Describe, Draw, Find, Identify, Label, List, Match, Name, Quote, Recall, Recite, Sequence, Tell, Write |
|
Comprehension |
Conclude, Demonstrate, Discuss, Explain, Generalize, Identify, Illustrate, Interpret, Paraphrase, Predict, Report, Restate, Review, Summarize, Tell |
|
Application |
Apply, Change, Choose, Compute, Dramatize, Interview, Prepare, Produce, Role-play, Select, Show, Transfer, Use |
|
Analysis |
Analyze, Characterize, Classify, Compare, Contrast, Debate, Deduce, Diagram, Differentiate, Discriminate, Distinguish, Examine, Outline, Relate, Research, Separate, |
|
Synthesis |
Compose, Construct, Create, Design, Develop, Integrate, Invent, Make, Organize, Perform, Plan, Produce, Propose, Rewrite |
|
Evaluation |
Appraise, Argue, Assess, Choose, Conclude, Critic, Decide, Evaluate, Judge, Justify, Predict, Prioritize, Prove, Rank, Rate, Select, |
After more than fifty years, this taxonomy is still very useful and practical for teachers to create didactic units, to write our lesson plans, to design activities, etc.

This blog is part of the course “Especialista universitario en docencia en programas bilingües” and the reasons to start it are:
- To practise with the new technologies
- To share opinions and ideas between students and teachers
- To solve doubts about bilingualism, CLIL methodology, teaching techniques, etc.
All comments will be very welcome!
